Overprint
We print zines, posters and short-run editions one colour at a time, on two stubborn Risograph duplicators and whatever paper the mill had left over. Every sheet below is a pass through the press — pull it, stack it, let it dry.
Pass 01 — the drums
Ink
Four drums, no CMYK: fluorescent pink, medium blue, green and yellow. Colour is mixed on the sheet, layer over layer, and you find out what you actually made when it lands in the tray.
Pass 02 — the stock
Paper
Uncoated stock only. Riso ink is soy-based and never fully seals, so every print stays a little soft to the touch and smells faintly of the pressroom for a week. We consider this a feature.
Pass 03 — on the press now
The edition
Every run is numbered, stamped and capped at two hundred. When an edition sells out we strip the masters and move on — no reprints, no second pressings, no exceptions.
On the press now: Blue Portraits, three posters by illustrator Mila Verheul. Blue and black, two passes each, 200 signed copies. 68 left.
Pass 04 — happy accidents
Misprints
Roller marks, ghosting, a colour landing a millimetre off register. The good mistakes go in the crate by the door — five euros each, first come, first served.
Pass 05 — first Saturdays
Open press
First Saturday of the month the studio is yours. Bring a file, pick two colours, leave with fifty prints and ink on your hands. No experience needed — that's what the misprint crate is for.
